Ocoee-based Zyberwear has been awarded a $70,000 NASA grant to develop an optical tool about the size of a wine bottle that is capable of surveying items at the edge of the universe as well as hidden drugs, explosives and bio-agents on Earth. The grant is for the first phase of work on the device, which would be installed on satellites and space probes. ? Four Florida Hospital scientists have been awarded grants worth more than $350,000 to study thrombosis, a deadly condition that affects more than 900,000 Americans a year. The scientists, who work at the hospital's Institute of Translational Research, are Ali Amirkhosravi, Todd Meyer, Monica Davilla and John Francis.
